It is hard to believe that we have been living in our new home for 6 months! We are well and truly settled and are enjoying the rewards of living here.

Our builder organised for some professional photos to be taken of our place which I thought I would share with you. This will be a refreshing change for you after the ‘naff’ photos  from my phone. Unfortunately  I haven’t  been able to download the high resolution ones but this will give you a good idea of what our place now looks like.

Our feature tree is coping well with the environment here (so far) and we enjoy seeing it change almost on a daily basis.

My colour scheme changed slightly (original idea was to have orange and yellow to link in with an aboriginal  painting) but once we got into the house I just couldn’t  resist the blue to link in with the pool and ocean and of course a new painting had to be purchased to tie it all in!

I really do love the kitchen and pantry area – it works so well for us and entertaining is a breeze as there is plenty of space for everyone to mill around and be part of the action.

  1. Wow Deb, not to diss your photography skills but geez! How amazing is your house! Love all the orchids and pot plants – after my own heart! The one in your ensuite is stunning. I also recognise your quilt cover, have been eyeing it off myself lately! The marri bedhead is amazing. I showed Mr Trixee and he noted you also chose the Siemens ovens, how are they going?

    • Lol my photography skills are rubbish so it was great to have someone take some ‘proper’ photos of the place.
Loving the Siemens goods – we ended up going with the basic ovens in the range after getting very close to buying the top of the range but I knew I would end up not using half the functions. I used the pyrolytic function to clean the oven the other day (justified by the very sunny day outside as it chews up the power!) and that was amazing – my oven looked like new inside.
I’m with you on the quilt cover – it looks good all the time and I’ve had so many comments on it.
Your place must be getting very close – you must be getting very excited 🙂

  2. Wow wow wow. Congratulations 😀 It all looks so amazing Deb! We love the Marri ! Especially that TV unit. We are looking for one for our place but not seen one pre built that’s big enough 😀 how big is yours and did you have it built?

    • Thank you.
The marri is lovely and if I had to start over again with furniture I would probably go for all marri as I love the different grains and colours.
Like you we struggled to find a Marri unit long enough to fit in the living area as we wanted something over 3m – this one is about 3.4m (I think). A little secret though – it is not Marri. I thought it was when I first saw it in the shop and so does everyone else that comes to visit. It is Russian Oak and we bought it ready made. Message me if you would like the details 🙂

      • Ahhh wow awesome! Yes would love details and maybe a pic of it? We are having our staircase and all top floor done in Marri and would like the TV unit in the downstairs living to be something same/similar. Definitely needs to be over 3 m. We almost also bought a new bed in Marri. But held back as we had only not long got our current one. We probably would have put our current one in one of the guest rooms if it was not a king size hehe although ….

      • Hi deb. yes we did thanks very much. Apologies for not replying. Yet another hectic week! We at having fun trying to choose cabinet and bench colours for our entire home.

  3. Lovely, Deb. So nice to have these photos. Your colours all look great. I love your floor tiles and wall paint choices which influence the whole house. It’s very fresh! Thanks for all your help/tips you’ve passed on to me. If my landscaping looks as good as yours I’ll be absolutely thrilled.

    • Oh thank you Jo – this forum has been so helpful for me too and I’m very grateful to my fellow bloggers for all their help and support.
I am sure your place will look absolutely amazing.
Let me know if you end up at this end of the woods and maybe we could have a catch up with Trixee ☺
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you and your handover date ☺☺☺

  4. Hi Deb!
Beautiful home! i’m not sure if you mentioned it but what are the colours you used for the exterior render of your home?

    Candice

    • Thank you Candice – it all seems such a long time ago now!
I have got the colours listed earlier in the blog – I can’t quite remember but will have a look for you 😀
